A: Children 6 to 9 years of age, but anyone who is interested in participating may do so.

A: No. The program is free.

A: There are three levels with different activities at each level.

A: Yes. There are rewards at the completion of each level.
Q: Are all the parks in South Carolina offering the Junior Ranger Program?

Q: Are there any special programs for Junior Rangers?
A: Special programs are park specific that are designed for both active and
prospective Junior Rangers. Please go to the Special Program Tab on the main web page for a complete list of parks and the programs they offer.
Q: Will my child be safe while at the park participating in the program?
A: State parks are safe places where parents can feel comfortable letting their children spend time.
Q: Why participate in this program?
A: State Parks offer the best natural and cultural sites in South Carolina. The children learn about their state while having fun.
Q: Can special needs children participate?
A: Yes. The program can accommodate children with special needs. Please let the park
ranger know if your child needs something special while at one of the parks. All South Carolina
state parks are handicapped accessible.
